Whenever I photograph boats, I'm generally at my destination at least an hour or so before sunrise. It gives me time to think about my approach, look at the proverbial lay of the land, and most importantly, I get a real sense and feel of the environment around me. When capturing this image I couldn't help feel just how isolated and alone this boat was. But what an extraordinary sense of peace it brought me as the incoming tide gently lapped against its sides.
